Who We Are

St, Peter’s Episcopal Church has many outreach programs, one of them being the Food Pantry. The Food Pantry at St. Peter’s was started in 1999 as a result of seeing a need in the community to serve people without passing judgment on their situation. We accept all clients that come to the Food Pantry.

Our Clients

The Food Pantry clients come from Phoenixville and the surrounding areas. Ten years ago when the Food Pantry first opened its doors, we served roughly 20 families. Today we serve 50 to 60 families with approximately 22 children. During the 2008 Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays we served just over 100 families. As the economy worsens, we are seeing new clients every Saturday that we are open.

Food Providers

The food for the pantry is supplied from four primary resources:

  • Food from the government is received on a monthly basis
  • Food from the state is received on a monthly basis
  • The people of St. Peter’s parish supply both food and money donations
  • Panera Bread provides bread and bakery items

Hours of Operation

The Food Pantry is open every other Saturday 9-11am throughout the year.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Since we are supplying more clients each week, we have a strong need right now to keep our shelves stocked. We are in search of school or community groups from our area including churches, scout groups, school key clubs or any other organization that is interested in running a food drive on our behalf once a year. If you can coordinate a food drive, please contact Deacon Joe Dietz at joesframes@comcast.net or St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at (610) 933-2195.
